  10. Profitable wool and a circular system with responsible consumption

Over the last few decades, sheep farmers have been burning their wool as a sign of rebellion against; low-revenue, transport and interest. Wool used to be called Gold or "Ull er Føroya gull" (Faroese proverb) on the Faroe Islands, as it’s value was in knitting jumpers, socks and even underwear. Knitting is still in favor but the wool is so abundant due to over 70,000 sheep alone on the Faroe Islands. A circular system needs to occur. By joining forces and partnerships with Norway and Iceland, the Faroe Islands and their partners can work on a sustainable solution with responsible consumption.
